Team mission
AI adoption at GetYourGuide is growing fast, and the decisions made now — about what we build, what we allow, and how we govern it — will shape the company for years. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of AI strategy, security, legal, and product.
You’ll work directly with the AI Council, IT, Security, and Legal, and partner with AI-focused teams across the business. The role reports into SaaS Operations but operates with company-wide scope: you will define the governance framework, set the strategic direction for internal AI adoption, and own the decisions that determine how GetYourGuide moves forward responsibly in an era of fast-moving AI.
Your mission
Define and own GetYourGuide’s internal AI governance posture — from policy to practice. This means:
- Architect the AI governance framework: set the standards, policies, and decision-making structures that determine how AI tools are evaluated, adopted, and used across the company.
- Shape the multi-year AI enablement strategy, balancing innovation velocity with security, compliance, and operational integrity.
- Serve as the senior AI authority internally — the go-to decision-maker for teams navigating tooling choices, shadow AI risks, and governance requirements.
- Lead cross-functional alignment between AI, Security, Legal, and business stakeholders, translating complex trade-offs into clear, defensible decisions.
- Drive the reduction of shadow AI and fragmentation across the organization through governance structures that are practical enough to actually get adopted.
- Evaluate and select AI platforms and tools with attention to security posture, compliance requirements, and long-term operational fit — not just near-term capability.
- Operate as an executive-level thought partner, influencing how leadership thinks about AI risk, opportunity, and responsible adoption.
Your toolkit
AI Governance and Strategy
- A track record of defining AI governance frameworks, policies, or responsible AI programs — not just executing within them.
- Strong point of view on how organizations should approach AI adoption: what safeguards matter, where to move fast, and where to slow down.
Cross-functional Influence
- Experience operating at the intersection of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including VP or C-level audiences.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, surface the real problem behind a request, and guide decisions under ambiguity without waiting for permission.
Technical Breadth
- Solid generalist background across platform, SaaS, or systems environments — enough to evaluate AI tooling credibly and ask the right hard questions.
- Fluency in security, compliance, and data governance considerations specific to AI: model risk, data residency, access controls, auditability.
Execution at Scope
- Comfortable owning initiatives from 0 to 1 — problem definition through implementation and iteration.
- Can operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and make high-quality decisions without perfect information.
Extras that give you an edge
- You’ve built an AI governance or responsible AI function, not just worked within one.
- Background in cybersecurity, privacy, or legal/compliance adjacent roles.
- Experience in a high-growth tech company navigating rapid AI adoption.
- Sysadmin or platform engineering background that gives you technical credibility with engineering teams.
How we’ll make your career journey extraordinary
- Annual personal growth budget and mentorship programs for continuous learning and development
- Work from anywhere in the world for 30 days per year
- A hybrid working approach with three days of in office collaboration (Mon, Tue, Thur) and two days of optional at home focus time.
- Opportunities to collaborate and socialize with team members through quarterly team events and yearly company-wide events
- Monthly transportation and fitness budget
- Discounts for you, your friends, and family on GetYourGuide activities
- Language reimbursement program
- Health and wellness benefits
