Senior/ Staff Cloud Infrastructure Expert (GCP, Landing Zone & Data Platform) (m/f/d)
We are seeking a hands-on Platform Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate Eventim’s next-generation Data Platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be instrumental in developing the scalable, secure, and automated data infrastructure that powers insights for one of the world’s leading ticketing and live entertainment platforms.
As part of a newly reorganized Data Platform team, you will shape the foundations of Eventim’s cloud engineering strategy through modern DevOps practices and agile collaboration.
What to expect:
Design and evolve the GCP Landing Zone, managing organization-level policies, folder hierarchies, and multi-project environments to ensure a secure and structured data foundation.
Build and maintain scalable, secure GCP-based environments specifically optimized for data workloads.
Develop and optimize CI/CD workflows to streamline application delivery.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent, secure, repeatable deployments.
Operate monitoring stacks to ensure peak performance, high availability, and proactive issue detection.
Partner with application, data, and security teams to drive automation, scalability, and compliance.
Advance the orchestration and lifecycle management of containerized workloads.
Support incident response and drive continuous improvements to platform stability.
What you’ll need:
Strong practical experience with core services including Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), IAM, Cloud Functions, Shared VPC, and Network Connectivity Center.
Proven expertise in designing and managing GCP Landing Zones, including Resource Manager (Folders/Projects), Organization Policies, and VPC Service Controls for data perimeter security.
Hands-on experience with data-centric services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow to support large-scale analytics workloads.
Expertise with Terraform or OpenTofu and a deep understanding of IaC principles for modular, reusable deployments.
Proficiency with Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Cloud Run for managing both long-running and serverless containerized data workloads.
Experience building workflows with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD, powered by strong scripting proficiency in Python or Bash to automate platform tasks.
Collaborative, agile mindset in cross-functional teams.
Great communicator, both spoken and written English; German is a plus.
