Working Student AI Full Stack Engineer (m/f/d)

What we do

Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions, as well as publicly funded research projects. We work across several domains, including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, transforming businesses as an external machine learning department. We achieve this using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.

Your role

As a Working Student in our Full Stack team, you'll contribute directly to the development of AI-powered applications. It will be no toy projects, it will be real production code. You'll work alongside senior engineers and get hands-on experience building the interfaces and backend systems that bring machine learning to life.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Support the development of frontend components and backend services for AI-powered applications
• Contribute to API development (REST/GraphQL) and database work under senior guidance
• Participate in code reviews and team rituals (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
• Help maintain documentation and improve developer tooling

Your profile

You are a great fit for our team if you bring these qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a BSc or MSc program in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/ReactJS
• First practical experience with web development (internship, own projects, or coursework counts)
• Curiosity about AI/ML applications and how they get deployed in the real world
• Experience with REST APIs or basic SQL is a plus
• Any exposure to ML frameworks (PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.) is a plus
• Fluency in English; German proficiency is a plus
• Available for 20 hours/week (flexible around your study schedule)
